Aggressive lists?

Postby Lankin » Sat Feb 18, 2012 2:41 pm

Alternative title:
Gay Is Just A Three-Letter-Word.

I didn't know there was a thing like an "aggressive list" before.

Yesterday I installed an anti-spam plugin for the ...fans.com site, and it seems to work just fine. It does more than scanning the content of the comment replies, it crawls the target url of the commentator and double checks.

Alright... So I went to through the blacklist of spam-words. (Words typical to tell the program that this is a spam comment and that it should not be approved.

I allowed myself the freedom to remove "gay" from the blacklist.
I kept "p*rn" in there, e.g. as I don't want to have the word in connection on any page of the ...fans.com site.

Just by the way, it's always fun to look up the search terms leading to your site. It's interesting of course, as well, to see if your site will be a huge disappointment to many, or if they'll be happy because they found what they were searching for.

This is for my blog today, and SEO suggest you connect one or more popular search terms to get more hits. I could write about this now, but it has been done before. There you go, one of the most lovely articles ever of the blog world by a Greek opera fan:

No, I don't have shirtlezz pictures, and who can tell the secrets of the heart?

Well, Love Is A Four-Letter Word ...

Just by the way, and this is not the place really ...

I am convinced the search terms somehow reflect some truth, after all. After some consideration, I'd say, 3 out of 4.

Imagining Cumberbatch as a hobbit cracked me up :D No, Smaug is lovely. I wonder when the first Smaug/Bilbo slash will be written. Afraid to google.

On my blog I also got inquiries about J's partner... so silly!
My funniest search term so far was something like "why does my husband always make (me?/another person?) sleep". And once someone wanted to know about "i am a little world made cunningly main conflict" -- pity he/she didn't post a comment, I would happily write anyone's homework on Donne's poetry! :)

Oh, that would be lovely!

I just looked again; the funniest are always the ones who ask google as you would ask a friend, in complete sentences, e.g.:

"honey you should see me in a crown is from which episode?"

If I ever start talking to google, hit me on the head ...

For your entertainment (I scrolled down a little in the searchterms.)
