Monteverd- iiiiiiiii! - I mean ... Seriously?

Casual talk, banter, and fun. Picture yourself with a glass of champagne in your hand, waiting for Act III to begin.

Monteverd- iiiiiiiii! - I mean ... Seriously?

This text was the introduction of the Baden-Baden programme. Really? I can't. I ...

In case the one who actually wrote this pops by: This isn't personal.

I tried a word-for word translation, as close to the original as I could:

"Cavalli, Padndolfi, Monteverdi, Uccellini: The „i“ at the end oft he names renders the impression of an exclamation, and is a reminder that the Baroque human always needs spectators in order to exist. Representing and feeling for him equals the same, and nowhere these two unite as wonderfully as on the opera stage. Humans are turning into monsters here, by showing and by being pointed at (monstrare = to show). Philippe Jaroussky and Marie-Nicole Lemieux: he sings high, she sings low. The natural order is suspended, art is triumphant.”

Lads and Ladsess,

some people should seperate their jobs from their stonedness.

I mean really?

This text sounds like quote of a Cheech & Chong movie or a stoned pseudo-poet of the worst kind!

I wouldn't be suprised, if the following sentences would apear in "the first draft" of this gobbledigook.
The filthy hounds of Hades are screaming from the mountainsides. The want the flesh of mother earth to give them redemption.
Emancipate yourself from mental slavery...

and so on and so on.

To make is short: DUDE! DON'T DO DRUGS IF YOU HAVE A DEADLINE THE NEXT DAY FOR CHRIST SAKE! TAKE A COLD SHOWER MAKE SOME COFFEE AND TEAR THIS LITTLE SUCKER DOWN SOBER!

To me it seems like a weak rip-off of ...
"Die Jugend will nichts mehr lernen, die Wissenschaft ist im Verfall, die ganze Welt steht auf dem Kopfe, ..."

"The young no longer want to study anything, learning is in decline, the whole world walks on its head, ..."

(Eco, Name der Rose/The Name Of The Rose)

Well, as Hemingway said ... "Write drunk, edit sober." :P

Edit: Plus ... I think there are actually two typos in there. "Repräsentieren und fühlen" ... mustn't the latter be capitalized, as it is the act of feeling? As in "Flying is great?"

After a ":", if the sentence is complete, the first letter has to be capitalized, just as in English.

Or like we say in Holland: "Doet U mijn effe een teiltje!".

(Google won;t know how to translate this, as it is Amsterdam slang)
